Who is the greatest of all time? Ask that question, and you’ll probably get a lot of different answers depending on the criteria and people’s personal opinions. But this desire to rank people and measure greatness doesn’t stop with famous athletes or musicians. We do it in everyday life, too. We compare accomplishments, abilities, careers, families, and even our faithfulness. And sometimes, without realizing it, we carry those same expectations into the church.

That’s exactly what was happening when Jesus’ disciples came to Him and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

Jesus’ answer probably wasn’t what they expected. Instead of naming the most accomplished or important disciple, He placed a child among them and turned their understanding of greatness upside down.

This week, as we continue our BRINGING FAITH TO LIFE series, we look at FaithPoint’s second core value: Safe & Trustworthy. Jesus reminds us that greatness in His kingdom isn’t about status, power, or recognition. It’s about humility—and how we receive and care for others, especially those who might otherwise be overlooked or vulnerable.

That means being a welcoming church is about more than being friendly. It’s about creating a community where children are safe, questions are met with patience, hurting people are heard, and everyone is treated with dignity and care. It’s also about taking seriously our responsibility to protect those God has entrusted to us.

Why? Because everyone matters to Jesus, and everyone should matter to us. Services are at 8:30 & 10am. Live Streaming available at 10am.
