Have you ever watched a movie that seemed to make perfect sense—until the ending turned everything upside down? Suddenly, all the pieces fell into place, and you realized you needed to watch the whole thing again! You had all the information, but you hadn’t fully understood the story.

Something similar happened to two disciples walking the road to Emmaus. They knew what had happened to Jesus. They had heard the reports of the empty tomb. They thought they knew the story. But they couldn’t yet see how it all fit together.

And if we’re honest, the same thing can happen to us. We can read the Bible, attend worship, and know what we believe, yet still miss the heart of the story. We can turn Scripture into a list of things we should do, let our own preferences shape what we believe, or get so caught up in maintaining church activities that we lose sight of why we’re here in the first place.

This week, as we continue our BRINGING FAITH TO LIFE series, we explore FaithPoint’s third core value: Word-Centered & Christ-Focused.

We don’t turn to Scripture simply to gain more knowledge, prove we’re good Christians, or find another list of things to accomplish. We turn to His Word because through it, God reveals Christ to us, speaks His promises of forgiveness and life, and shapes us as His people.

This core value reminds us what must remain at the center: Christ…His Word shaping us, and His Gospel going out through us. Services are at 8:30 & 10am. Live Streaming available at 10am.
