Anyone who has tried gardening knows there are certain things you can do to help. You can prepare the soil, plant the seed, water faithfully, and pull weeds. But at the end of the day, there is one thing no gardener can force:
Growth. Growth is ultimately a gift from God.
That simple truth becomes the heart of Paul’s message to the church in Corinth. The congregation had begun dividing itself around personalities and leaders—some loyal to Paul, others to Apollos. But Paul redirects their focus away from human servants and back to the One who matters most. The one who is the foundation of their Church…Christ!
This Sunday, as FaithPoint enters a new season following Pastor Steve’s retirement we’ll reflect on this powerful reminder: servants come and go, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ remains the foundation forever.
And that foundation matters because the stakes are eternal.
Scripture is painfully honest about our condition: left to ourselves, we continually choose paths that lead away from God. But the Gospel announces the good news that Jesus chose obedience for us, bore death for us, and rose again so that we might receive life through Him. This is the foundation of our salvation. This is the foundation of the Church.
That is what makes our transition exciting! Pastor Steve and I are co-workers in God’s field. One servant planted. Another now waters. But every step of the way, Christ has been the foundation beneath FaithPoint and will continue to be.
After all, FaithPoint does not belong to one pastor, one personality, or even one generation. It has always belonged to Christ. Summer Service times begin this week at 9am! Live Streaming available.
