There is a corner in my front garden that fills me with so much joy and anticipation each Spring.  The melting snow and spring rains provide just the right amount of moisture for a Fernleaf Peony to be the star of the garden.  The blooms are plentiful and beautiful.  As this special Fernleaf Peony concludes its brilliant display, I hold onto hope that the plants I’ve placed around it will fill in and be stunning as well.  However,  I have an awful habit of forgetting to water this space under the eaves of our porch. In the heat of the summer, the plants in that corner wither.   Sometimes our spiritual lives are in need of God’s streams of water. The author of Psalm 1 reminds us that blessings and the abundant life will come when we are planted with our roots tapped into Jesus.  We need to be attentive to all in this world that can draw us away from being connected to his nourishing streams.
