We live in a culture that never stops. Notifications buzz. News scrolls. Work follows us home. Even rest becomes something we try to optimize. Constant motion feels normal—and yet the consequences are everywhere: exhaustion, anxiety, and hearts that never truly settle.

This Sunday we continue our Lenten series, Healthy Heart Habits, with Week 4: The Rhythm — A Healthy Heart Trusts Enough to Stop.

In Exodus 20, when God commands Sabbath, He does not begin with a rule. He begins with identity: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of slavery” Rest flows from redemption. Sabbath is not about slowing productivity—it is about restoring identity. It declares that we belong to God before we accomplish anything for Him.

Left unchecked, our striving attaches worth to productivity. We begin to measure ourselves by output, performance, and comparison. But in Matthew 11, Jesus speaks a different word: “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” True rest is not found in better time management, but in Christ Himself.

Sabbath restores more than the body. It restores the soul. It is a weekly act of trust—trust that God is sufficient, that we are not the Savior, and that our identity is received, not earned.

Bring your bibles this Sunday and let’s explore God’s design for our souls together!

Services are at 8:30 & 10am. Live Streaming available at 10am.
