Have you ever found something so valuable that everything else suddenly seemed less important?
Maybe it was a family heirloom, an unexpected discovery, or a relationship that changed your life. When we recognize something of great worth, it changes how we see everything else.
Jesus tells two parables that seem to make exactly that point—a hidden treasure and a pearl of great price. They’re often misunderstood as stories about what we should be willing to give up for God’s Kingdom. But what if Jesus is revealing something even greater?
This Sunday we conclude our summer series, Kingdom Stories, by seeing these familiar parables through a Christ-centered lens. The greatest treasure in these stories is not our devotion to Christ. It is Christ’s devotion to us.
When the world saw ordinary, broken sinners, Jesus saw immeasurable worth. Out of His great love, the eternal Son of God willingly laid aside His glory, took on our humanity, and gave everything through His death and resurrection to redeem a people for Himself.
That is the astonishing message of the Gospel: Before we ever sought Him, Christ came seeking us. Before we could offer Him anything, He gave everything for us.
And because we now belong to Him, our lives are transformed—not to earn His love, but because we already have it. Summer Sunday Services are at 9am each week! Live Streaming available.
