Dear Friends,
Last Sunday at church, I heard from several people phrases like “Can you believe July is almost over?” and “I can’t believe how fast summer is going!” These days do tend to fly by quickly and many of us find ourselves counting the remaining days of summer. In Psalm 90:12, we read the words “Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” This verse is often treated as if it were a proverb that means, “Life is short, live wisely.” However, there is a bit more to unpack here than a simple proverb. It is God who takes what we do and makes it meaningful and lasting for the kingdom of God.
