This Sunday marks the beginning of the church year, the season of Advent. Advent is the season of preparing and waiting for the birth of Christ and for his Second Coming at the end of time.
The story is told of a young boy playing hide-and-seek with his friends. He finds a great spot to hide and waits and waits and waits … but his friend never comes looking for him.  Instead, he abandons the game and goes home.
When the distraught child comes to his father with tears streaming down his face and explains that his friend never came searching for him, the father is deeply moved and sees it as a metaphor realizing that there is a hiddenness about God that waits for us to seek him out. And it is a profound sadness when no one comes looking for him.
Join us this Sunday at worship. Services are at 8:30 & 10:00 AM.  Live Streaming available at 10:00 AM.
