This Sunday, we will honor our graduating seniors as I share my final message with you as your pastor. What would Jesus say to graduating seniors—and to our congregation—as we navigate this season of transition? I’ll share two words that Jesus might speak to those facing change today.
One of those words comes from the most frequent command Jesus gives in the Gospels: “Do not be afraid.” In anticipation of Israel’s entrance into the Promised Land, God told His people again and again, “Be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:9).
Max Lucado once said, “Write today’s worries in sand. Chisel yesterday’s victories in stone.”
The second word addresses how easily we fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others.
God invites us to find our identity in Him—not in how we measure up next to someone else.
I’ll even have a special treat to help chase away the monsters.
See you Sunday at 8:30 or 10am Live Streaming available at 10am.
Senior Graduates will be recognized at the 8:30 service.
