Do you think more about what a person is, or what they might become?  How about for your own life?  Do you focus more on who you are, or what you might become?
Famous preacher Phillips Brooks, author of the famous Christmas hymn, “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and preacher at Abraham Lincoln’s funeral once said,  “Do not pray for easy lives.  Pray to be stronger people!  Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.  Pray for powers equal to your tasks.”
God sees each of us as we really are, warts, imperfections, misdirected intentions and every black mark.  But he also sees our potential, the light at the end of the tunnel, the light of Christ that shines brighter than the darkness.  He sees who we are intended to be … and who we will one day become.
This Sunday we kick off a series on the book of Philippians, a short letter the Apostle Paul wrote from a prison cell that is packed with take-aways.  Join us for worship on Sunday at 9:30 AM.  Live Streaming also available at 9:30 AM.
Invite a friend to be your guest.  They will be blessed.
