Coordinator for Confirmation Ministries FaithPoint Lutheran Church

Vision:

Our Vision is to offer a dynamic, Christ-centered ministry that calls young people into a living vibrant relationship and guides them into a mature faith as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission:

The Confirmation Coordinator will work with the pastor to have general oversight of the Confirmation program, grades 6-8 so that they might mature and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.  These multiple tasks are largely carried out through recruiting and equipping mentors to carry out the mission among the youth.  Elements of executing this mission include, but are not be limited to, Wednesday Night Confirmation, service & mission events and special activities.

Relationships & Responsibilities

  1. Have a visible and living relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Have good communication skills with youth and adults.
  3. Meet with 6-8 graders on Wednesday evenings during the school year.
  4. Commit to the Vision and Mission of FaithPoint Lutheran Church.
  5. Remain current on youth ministry topics and resources and related issues.
  6. Promote growth in numbers, spiritual maturity, and youth participation at FaithPoint Lutheran Church.
  7. This is a stipend position that has very flexible hours.
  8. Demonstrate maturity, leadership, organizational skills and a desire to be a team player who works well with other staff and leaders.

 

Director of Youth Ministries FaithPoint Lutheran Church

Vision:

Our Vision is to offer a dynamic, Christ-centered ministry that calls young people into a living vibrant relationship and guides them into a mature faith as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission:

The Director of Youth Ministries will have general oversight of youth, grades 9 – 12 as well as relate to youth of all ages within the church and community so that they might mature and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.  These multiple tasks are largely carried out through recruiting and equipping youth leaders to carry out the mission among the youth.  Elements of executing this mission include, but are not be limited to, Retreats, Bible Studies, discipleship, music ministries, trips, service events, camp, and fellowship.

Relationships & Responsibilities

  1. Have a visible and living relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Have good communication skills with youth and adults.
  3. Prepare for and meet with 9-12 graders weekly to help them mature in their faith along with equipping families and volunteers to play a vital role in that growth process.
  4. Lead other events, retreats, Lock-ins, Service Projects, Mission Trips, etc. to help mature high school age youth in their faith.
  5. While the focus of this position is on grades 9-12, we desire our Youth Director to also interact and participate with youth of all ages, and our youth and family ministry programs at FaithPoint (Confirmation, Summer Stretch, JAM [Jesus & Me], Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, WOW [Worship our Way], 7 Faith Stepping Stones).
  6. Commit to the Vision and Mission of FaithPoint Lutheran Church.
  7. Recruit, lead, equip and oversee a Senior High Youth Team.
  8. Remain current on youth ministry topics and resources and related issues.
  9. Promote growth in numbers, spiritual maturity, and youth participation at FaithPoint Lutheran Church.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
  2. A demonstrated level of maturity, leadership, organizational skills and a desire to be a team player who works well with other staff and leaders.
  3. Demonstrate ability to initiate and complete goals and ministry projects.
  4. Capable computer skills and effective social media skills.
  5. Able to be a resource and role model for FaithPoint’s youth and their families. Be a resource for counseling.

This position is for 32+ hours a week and is responsible to the Senior Pastor.  Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience pay.  There can be some flexibility in hours.
