Join us for a brand new series called “The Greatest Sermon Ever”. We can say that because we will be looking at the most famous and best sermon ever delivered. How can we be so sure? Well, many have written about the impact of Jesus’ sermon in Matthew 5-7, but Harvard Professor Harvey Cox summed it up best: Jesus’ sermon is “the most luminous, most quoted, most analyzed, most contested, most influential moral and religious discourse in all of human history.”
The Sermon on the Mount is not general, moral advice to random people. It’s not another list of rules to follow; it is a bold, brilliant, fearless, life-changing trumpet blast to join King Jesus in his divine conspiracy to bring up THERE … down HERE. It is Jesus’ invitation to redeem the world through his Kingdom come.
